Sake Brewery Tour

When you visit at the sake brewery, you will see the cedar tree’s ball called Sugiyama. This is one of symbol of sake brewery. It is hung in the autumn season which sake brewing starts. Inside of brewery, you can smell sweet chestnuts aroma from Koji production and also fresh apple and banana aroma from the fermentation batch. 

Brewery is not just making alcohol as like factory , more over this is the heart of cultural and historical religion. More than decades periods, Japan has been devided into prefecture in the term of geographical and political reasons. However, it has helped to develop their own character of culture and cuisine. For example, Hiroshima sake is suitable with oyster and seafood as they face the sea and Nagano sake has robust palate as they used to hunt and cook gibier. We’d recommend to try local food and local sake together. This is one of hidden pleasure to travel over Japan. 

In our sake brewery tour, customers anticipate explore the sake world with your 5 senses. We take you the brewery by the transportation which tends to be located far from the city center. Our guide shows around the brewery and you are able to encounter the historical buildings made in Edo era and Maki era, also you’d be able to see the sake fermentation process. Each steps requires careful sanitation and usually these are hidden in public but Toji who is the head of brewery stuff will explain each steps. After the tour, we can taste 5-6 different type of sake which includes fresh type and premium sake. 

 We mainly organize the guide tour around Tokyo, Chiba, Saitama, Tochigi, Ibaragi, Gunma, Yamanashi area. But we’d be welcomed your request as well so that we can organize far trip like Hiroshima, Ishikawa or even Aomori prefecture. 

Brewery tour is now recommended by the Japanese government in the term of UNESCO is going to add Sake and Brewery in the list of intangible cultural heritage in Japan.
